M. Omar Ashraf has been Executive Vice President of Sterling Management Group, Inc. (“SMG”) since 1998, Vice-President of Sterling Advisory Services, Inc. since its inception, Vice President of Mar-Jac Investments, Inc. (“MarJac”) since 1990 and Executive Vice President of Mar-Jac Poultry, Inc. since 1996.
He has been involved in the management as project manager of Mar-Jac Poultry, an integrated poultry company located in Gainesville, Georgia, since 1986. Mr. Ashraf is also currently involved in the management of Jucosa, a Chilean juice producer traded on Santiago Stock Exchange, and serves as a member of its Board of Directors. He was also a managing director of Anchor Yeast (Pvt.) Ltd., a yeast producer in Zimbabwe from 1999 to 2001.
From 1978 to 1985, Mr. Ashraf worked at Gulfco Industries as Vice President of Manufacturing and Production Engineering Manager. In addition, Mr. Ashraf has more than 15 years of experience in stock investments, involving assets ranging from $1-$10 million at MarJac. He holds an M.B.A. from University of Central Oklahoma (1981) and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Dakota State University (1976).
